As part of the planned improvement of the first time user experience for the windows client, I was tasked with updating the account creation user flow. This included business requirements that requested optional Skype profile information and an update of the 'Get Starting Wizard'.
For this re-design I attempted to improve a number of usability problems found in the previous version. This included informing the user if their chosen Skype Name was unavailable earlier in the flow, reducing the number of steps and updating the format to match that of the 'Get Starting Wizard'.
